+ Do you have any gluten-free EatingWell™ frozen entrées?
- Indian Inspired Chicken
- Korean Inspired Beef
- Cherry Port Pork
- Chicken & Wild Rice Stroganoff
Look for the “NSF Certified Gluten-Free” seal in the bottom left corner of the box front.
+ What is Fresh-Seal™ packaging?
We use a proprietary process to vacuum-seal the food and help lock in the moisture to maintain freshness, reduce freezer burn and improve shelf life.
+ Should I be concerned that a plastic film on the package is touching the food?
This is actually our Fresh-Seal™ packaging, which is designed to be tightly sealed around the food to lock in freshness. It has gone through rigorous testing to make sure it complies with Federal standards that guarantee food safety. Our Fresh-Seal™ packaging has no impact on the flavor or texture of the delicious food inside.
+ I see a few air pockets under the Fresh-Seal™ packaging. Is this okay?
Yes, that is simply the remaining air from our vacuum-seal process to lock in freshness.
+ Is the food safe and will it still cook properly if I’ve punctured the film or peeled back the seal?
Oops! Our frozen entrées are designed to cook best with the Fresh-Seal™ packaging intact as heating begins. This allows for steaming and even heating of the food as the film balloons and self-vents. If you have punctured the film or peeled it back before heating the product, the food will heat but may not perform as well as desired.
+ Is it safe to heat and eat my EatingWell™ frozen entrée if it has thawed?
Unfortunately, you should always toss out frozen meals if they thaw completely. Depending on the time and temperature of the thawing process, the food quality and safety may be compromised. But please grab another frozen meal, heat it up and enjoy!
+ Help! I followed the cooking instructions but my EatingWell™ frozen entrée is still a little too cold.
Microwave ovens vary in power, so you may need to heat it for a bit longer. If your entrée is still cold, continue to heat in 30-second increments until it is thoroughly cooked to 165°F.
+ Can I cook this in a conventional oven?
Sorry, EatingWell™ plates and Fresh-Seal™ packaging don’t work well in a conventional oven. If you have one of our entrées, we think you’ll be impressed with the results from cooking it in a microwave!
+ Can I recycle or reuse my EatingWell™ frozen entrée packaging?
You can recycle all EatingWell™ packaging materials, except the film. If you would like more information, please contact your local recycling, solid waste, environment or public works department. They can explain the recycling options in your area.
We do not recommend reusing or reheating the plate. It was not designed to be a permanent dish.
EatingWell™ frozen entrée packaging does not contain BPA, BPS, or BPF (bisphenol A, S or F).
